Champions back at work
www.fcbarcelona.cat
The Copa del Rey champions returned to work on Friday with their minds back on the League. And this weekend they have the chance to win their second title of the season.
There is no time left to enjoy the Copa del Rey win at Mestalla, because Josep Guardiola’s
side got back to regular work this morning at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper. And they are just
one point away from a league title that could be theirs very weekend.
There is a very good chance that Guardiola and his Barça side could finally seal the Liga
title this weekend, which would leave them with ten pressure-free days to start concentrating on
the Champions League final.
Everyone available
Josep Guardiola trained today with all of the players
available to him. The injured Milito, Márquez, Jorquera, Iniesta and Henry were all away, and Piqué
was only there for the first few minutes before heading off for specific treatment.
Six reserves
Barça Atlètic have no more official matches to play, so six
of the side’s members joined the first team training session. These were Gai Assulin, Xavi
Torres, Abraham (who already trained on Tuesday) and Thiago, Botía and Fontàs.
UEFA doping control
The training session included an unexpected visit from members of UEFA’s doping control unit.
When the session was over, ten players were called to take a drug test, namely Alves, Iniesta,
Puyol, Eto'o, Henry, Milito, Sylvinho, Pinto, Sergio Busquets and Keita.
