Wednesday training with Rome in mind
Marc Guillén / Vanessa Forns
The senior squad were back in training on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s match against Osasuna but with next week’s CL final very much in mind.
After a two-day break, the players were back on the training ground today to begin preparations for
next Wednesday’s match against Manchester United.
Before then, they have the last league match of the season
against Osasuna on Saturday in the Camp Nou. Then the players will get the chance to parade the
league and Cup trophies in front of the fans in what is sure to be a fantastic celebration.
Guardiola has already announced that he will be resting a good number of first team players to keep
them fresh for the showdown in Rome.
18 from the senior squad; 6 from Barça Atlètic
A total of 22 players reported for training, 18 from the
first team and 6 from Barça Atlètic –Xavi Torres, Jeffren, Abraham, Espasandín,
Botía and Oier–. Pinto, who did not travel to Majorca with the rest of the squad due to
an ankle problem, was able to take a full part in training. Not so Gudjohnsen, who sat out the
session because of a bruised right foot.
Iniesta and Henry
Apart from long-term injury victims Márquez, Jorquera and Milito, Thierry Henry and Andrés
Iniesta were also missing from the session as they are continuing with their individual
recuperation programmes. Both players hope to be ready in time to face Manchester United.
