www.fcbarcelona.cat
This has been a record breaking season for Barça who chalked up their 18th La Lliga title after two barren years with a record number of points – 87, three more than their previous high of 2005.
Goals: In the 1996/97 season Barca scored 102
goals in 42 games to set anew club record: this year, Guardiola’s team banged home 105 in 38
games, just two short of Real Madrid’s all time record set in the 1989/90 season.
Most wins: With 27 victories, Barca beat their previous record by two, though
again, Real Madrid hold the absolute record with 28 in 1987/88.
Most away wins: The thirteen away victories equals Atletico Madrid’s record,
set in a 42-game season, and beats the club’s previous nest by two games.
Most consecutive away wins: From week 3 to week 21,
Barca won every away game, beating Sporting, Espanyol, Athletic Club, Màlaga, Recreativo, Sevilla,
Vilarreal, Osasuna and Racing to set a new record of nine away wins on the trot.
Best first half of the season: Barca set a new La Lliga record with 50 points.
Best goal difference: With 105 goal scored and just 35 conceded Barca set a new
goal difference record of + 70, beating the previous record by a single goal.
Goals scored at the Bernabeu: The six goals Barca scored on 2nd May were the
highest number ever scored against their eternal rivals in Madrid.
