Touré Yaya keeps his promise

This Monday Touré Yaya has kept the promise he made just before the Champions League final when he said that if the club won he would take the trophy to Ivory Coast.
This Monday the Barcelona player has made a round trip to Ivory Coast to show off the Champions
League trophy Josep Guardiola’s team won last Wednesday in Rome against Manchester United.
Touré was greeted by crowds of fans anxious to see the Cup up close.
Ivory Coast’s first European champion
Touré Yaya thus kept the promise he made in the
event that Barça were to win the trophy. He is the first Ivory Coast player to be a European
champion.
Welcomed by the country’s President
With the season over and with the club’s permission to take the trophy, Touré Yaya
headed to Ivory Coast this Monday where he was met by Laurent Gbagbo, the country’s
President, at the airport.
Large crowds
There were also a lot of fans there to greet the player and see him alongside the Champions
League trophy.
