Pruna pleased with Hleb fitness
Aleksandr Hleb had no problem passing his medical with FC Barcelona on Wednesday afternoon and was described by club doctor, Ricard Pruna, as being "a very fit player with a well-balanced physique".
After arriving in the Ciutat Contal at midday, the 27-year-old, reported to the Barça Medical
Services in Camp Nou after posing for photographs alongside the club crest outside the main
offices. Following the first part of his medical, Hleb then travelled to Hospital de Barcelona for
the final check-ups.
Well balanced
Having come through it all successfully, Doctor Pruna confirmed that the
medical had been "satisfactory". The club medic explained that the after putting the player through
several different tests that he is "a very fit player with a well-balanced physique". "He is in
great shape to play football," he added.
No medical problems
Reflecting on the overall outcome of the medical check, Doctor Pruna continued by adding that
Hleb had "had very few injuries". "He is 27 and in his muscle scans we have not found any problems.
I think that in this sense he has been lucky with injuries. He has an old fracture in a toe, but it
is very old and will not cause any problems. Also, two yeas ago they removed a fragment from the
meniscus in his left knee, but it has healed very well and there will be no effects from that
either."
