Xavi, Puyol and Iniesta declared fit

Carles Puyol, Xavi and Andrés Iniesta will travel to Scotland on Wednesday to join up with the FC Barcelona first team for their first taste of pre-season training after reporting in to Camp Nou for a medical this morning.
The trio that helped Spain to win the European Championships this summer had a complete set of
tests to judge their physical state at the hands of the club's doctors.
Starting on Wednesday
None of the players had any problems at all and by 11.30am were all given the green light to
begin pre-season, which they will do in St Adnrews on Wednesday.
Player coach
When they all land in Scotland this afternoon, Iniesta will meet up with
Guardiola on a pitch for the first time since he trained with the first team many years ago that
still contained the club's new coach. "It is one of those coincidences that happen in football and
it is very important that he now uses his experience to help the team and to ensure we all do what
he wants," the midfielder said.
New campaign
Looking ahead to the new season, Iniesta continued: "I hope that I can stay fit and that the
team can start to win trophies again to cheer the fans up. We will give it everything we have so
that we can enjoy the season."
