A week of travel and games
Roger Bogunyà
FC Barcelona have their busiest week of the preseason ahead of them, with two games and trips to Italy and the USA in just seven days.
Last week the squad was based entirely in Scotland, where the first two games of the preseason were
comfortable wins for Guardiola’s side. Now come two more games including a trip to the United
States.
Monday and Tuesday in Barcelona
But first the players will get some rest after the trip to
Scotland, and will spend three nights in Barcelona. Sunday is a rest day, then on Monday it will be
back to training at 10.00 in the Miniestadi. On Monday evening, at 18.30, there will be a second
session, this time at La Masía, while there will also be two sessions on Tuesday.
Wednesday in Florence
On Wednesday morning, the team will travel to Florence, and at 20.45 they play their third
game of the preseason against
Fiorentina
, one of the clubs in the forthcoming Champions League. This being the European year of
intercultural dialogue, the game will be played under the banner of fair play and anti-racism.
Once the game is over, the players will stay the night in Italy, and then on Thursday will
jet off to America, where they continue the preseason with two further matches.
Sunday night in Chicago
After two days in the USA, in Chicago, the team will play on Sunday (1.00 on Monday CET)
their first game in the Americas against Chivas of Guadalajara. This game will end what will have
been the most intense week of all Barça’s preseason preparations.
