Touré and Eto'o out of action
Sergi Nogueras / Jordi Clos
Touré Yaya and Samuel Eto'o did not take part in training on Saturday morning in what proved to be a particularly physical session for the FC Barcelona first team squad in the United States.
In the first of two practice stints on the day, Pep Guardiola's players were put through their
paces by the coach at the University of Illinois campus, where the continued preparing for their
first match in the middle of Sunday night (CET).
Guardiola was without Touré and Eto'o, who both stayed at
the hotel to continue recovering along with Víctor Sánchez and Víctor Vázquez. The Ivory Coast
international picked up a knock on his ankle, while the Cameroonian still has a sore ankle from a
blow received before leaving Barcelona. Recuperator Emili Ricard and physiotherapist David Álvarez
helped both the players and the pair should be back in action in the second session of the day.
Short session
The morning session last approximately one hour, which is
less then usual. After the warm-up, the players did a variety of physical exercises before the last
part was more relaxed with ball games in front of the stand, where there were a number of local
fans watching events.
All three goalkeepers on the trip worked away from the squad with Juan Carlos Unzué.
