Strategy takes over
www.fcbarcelona.cat
If during the morning session Josep Guardiola’s men worked on the more physical aspect, in the afternoon session ball control and especially strategy took over.
The Mini-stadium was again the scene for Barça’s preparatory session this Saturday afternoon.
After the morning session, where physical training was dominant, in the afternoon session it was
all about tactics.
Albert Jorquera and Marc Crosas were again missing.
Defensive work
In the first fifteen minutes, open to the press, we could
see how Josep Guardiola worked the organisation of the defence such as free kicks and corners. The
players involved in practising the defensive work were those who played in the first eleven against
the New York Red Bulls, that is, Valdés, Alves, Puyol, Márquez, Abidal, Keita, Xavi, Iniesta, Hleb,
Henry and Eto’o.
The rest of the players practiced one touch football.
Light training
Before the strategy work, the team played a game to make the training a little lighter. The
coaching team have been clear since the start that they want to make warm ups more varied and fun.
