No luck in Los Parajitos
Jordi Clos
Bojan Krkic, Andrés Iniesta, Xavi and Martín Cáceres all agreed with each that while Barcelona could not play their game, they were unlucky not have taken something from the match against Numancia.
After turning 18 last Thursday, Krkic was hoping for an opening day win in Los Parajitoes, but
instead was left to reflect on a 1-0 reverse. "It is a surprising defeat, we really did not expect
it," he said. "We did not play well. It was one of those games where you have a lot of chances and
just cannot score. On another day we can play that and score half of the chances.
"But it is nothing to worry about as it is only the first game of the season. We needed to
open up the game, but it is something that we can work on as it is only August and we have time to
correct things."
Bellow are the thoughts of some of the other players.
Andrés Iniesta
"We have not made the best start and there were times when it was difficult for us to play
our game and they scored with their only chance."
"Making a winning start is always better. We have to correct things."
"We have to look at what we have done well and what we have done badly. We created chances
playing our way, but we just could not score."
Xavi Hernández
We have made a poor start to the league by losing but we tried everything. We were unable to
move the ball like we hoped to, but we created a lot of chances and only needed one to go in."
"We worked hard in Los Parajitos. It was the perfect game them as they scored early on and it
was just unlucky for us."
"Our philosophy was clear. Only the result was missing."
Lionel Messi
"Hitting the post was a shame."
"Playing badly we created a lot of chances and we were just unfortunate not to score."
"They left us very little space and we were not able to play our game."
"We are not worried. We have not had the luck we had in pre-season."
"I felt fine after my rest and I am only disappointed about the score."
Martin Cáceres
It is a shame. We had opportunities, but we did not have any luck in front of goal."
