Thinly attended session

Berta Brau / Vanessa Forns

After the 1-0 defeat away at Numancia, international commitments have meant that only six first team players have put in an appearance at training this Monday.

Pinto, Sylvinho, Gudjohnsen, Víctor Sánchez, Dani Alves and Valdés were the six first-teamers to take part in the session organised by manager Pep Guardiola at noon at the Masia.

Bulk left this Monday

This situation will be repeated up until 12 September as international fixtures between 5 and 10 September are to leave the squad short of players. The bulk of the fifteen Barça internationals called up for their national teams have left today, while three of them – Messi, Martín Cáceres and Márquez – headed out yesterday Sunday right after the game at Los Pajaritos.

Guddy to leave soon

Recovery

After doing tempo runs, the six players divided into two groups of three. Valdés, Pinto and Dani Alves continued with running and stretching exercises, while Gudjohnsen, Víctor Sánchez and Sylvinho did some stretching and ball skills work followed by a series of circuits.

Day off on Tuesday
Pep Guardiola has decided to give his players a day off tomorrow Tuesday to be followed by a free weekend. That means there will be training on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 9.30 am at La Masia.
