On their rest day, the FC Barcelona players attended to a commitment they had with one of the club sponsors, Audi. At midday the official cars for the 08-09 season were presented to the players.

There was training today for Josep Guardiola and his side and therefore the first team players made their way to the racing rack to attend an event organised by club sponsor Audi.

For the third season in a row, the official cars were presented on an unusual day for the footballers, but a great chance for them to all enjoy a day out together.

Driving lessons and vehicle presentation

At half past one, the players arrived at the circuit, where they had lunch together before enjoying a short driving lesson and then after taking a series of tests with the Audi drivers, the German company presented them with the new Q7 models.

Rafa Márquez and Víctor Valdés, with sore throats, and the injured Alexander Hleb and Milito, did not go to Montmeló.

Institutional representation

President Joan Laporta, accompanied by vice president for sport, Rafael Yuste, and directors Albert Perrín and Jordi Torrent were at the presentation along with the Audi directors. Laporta recognised that Barça, like the brand of cars, aims to lead its field. “We have similar objectives (in reference to Audi and Barça) of being first, being the best in order to gain success and glory”, he said.
