The Barça returned to training on Friday with the weekend fixture against Sporting on their minds. Valdés trained for the first time since going down with a sore throat, but Henry and Márquez, with the same medical problem, are still unwell.
The first team trained inside the Camp Nou in the first of
the day’s training sessions. This was after a day off on Thursday, which had been used to
attend a promotional event organised by one of the
official club sponsors
, Audi.
Home and away
For the morning session, Josep Guardiola had first choice keeper Víctor Valdés back after
recovering from a sore throat, but Thierry Henri and Rafa Márquez are still not ready to play after
suffering the same problem.
Márquez, who missed the trip to the Circuito de Catalunya as
a precautionary measure, and Henry, who had to leave Montmeló early, have stayed at home with
medication, the hope being that they will be well enough to take part in the evening session.
