An attack that works

Roger Bogunyà

Barcelona comes to the second break in League action this season after scoring 18 goals in six games, an average of three per match. This is the best performance by the team since the 1981/82 season.

In that campaign, with Udo Lattek in the dugout, the side found the net on twenty occasions in its first six matches. Josep Guardiola’s team has now put an end to concerns about its goal scoring ability after only getting one in its first two League encounters and now seems to be scoring at will.

Defence, midfield and attack

Plus Barça is scoring from all over the place: in open play, from free-kicks, with headers, from corners, penalties, rebounds etc. Eight goals have been scored with the right foot, five with the left and there have been five headers.
