Yet more internationals
Berta Brau
There are three more international games on Tuesday evening that feature Barça players. All three are very different games, one is a World Cup qualifier, the other is a friendly, and the third is a decisive Under 21 international.
There are six Barça players in action this evening in three different games. Spain’s Under 21
side face Switzerland, Bolivia take on Uruguay, and France have a friendly with Tunisia. Three very
different games.
Bojan, Piqué and Busquets after qualification
Spain’s Under 21 side are looking to make it into the European
Championship. After losing the away leg to Switzerland, 2-1, only a win will do now. Murcia is the
venue, and the crunch encounter gets under way at 21.30.
Uruguay and Martín Cáceres against Bolivia
After losing to his colleague Leo Messi’s Argentina, Uruguayan Martín Cáceres now faces
Bolivia in his second game of the week. Altitude could be the main problem in the Bolivian city of
La Paz in a game that kicks off at 16.00 local time (22.00 CET).
But the Uruguayans will also have to contend with a depleted squad following the large number
of yellow cards collected in the heated encounter with traditional rivals Argentina. But these
enforced changes do not affect Cáceres.
Henry and Abidal in friendly
France have a day off from their troubled World Cup campaign, and will
be taking advantage of the opportunity by playing a friendly with Tunisia. But although there are
no points at stake, plenty of tension is expected in the game in the wake of the incidents that
occurred when these two nations last met in a friendly just two years ago. The venue this time will
be the Stade de France in Paris.
Six more games on Wednesday
Barça players will be involved in six other games on Wednesday. Five of these are qualifying games
for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, while the other, between Israel and Italy, and which may
feature Gai Asulin, is a European Under 21 play off.
