Márquez and the Africans back in town
www.fcbarcelona.cat
Márquez, Eto’o, Keita and Touré Yaya have returned from their international commitments, although the Ivorian has returned with minor injury concerns.
Barça are starting to regroup as the international week draws to a close. The training session on
Tuesday at La Masía included all of Rafa Márquez, Samuel Eto’o and Seydou Keita, who have
returned from their international expeditions. Touré Yaya is also back, but has picked up a minor
injury in the internal meniscus of his right knee. It is not yet known whether the injury is
serious enough to cast any doubt on his presence in the game at San Mamés on Sunday.
So Márquez, Eto’o and Keita have been reunited with the other first players: Valdés,
Jorquera, Pinto, Sylvinho, Víctor Sánchez and Hleb.
Five reserves
Like on Monday, Pep Guardiola included five reserve team players in his session,
namely Longás, Maric, Xavi Torres, Víctor Vázquez and Abraham.
The injured Milito and Pedro continued with their recovery programmes.
Open doors
The session was held before the general public, and saw Josep Guardiola emphasising
fitness as he got the players to do circuits. The following exercises did involve the ball,
focusing on control, one-twos and most of all, creating pressure. The goalkeepers trained
separately in the company of their specialist coach Juan Carlos Unzué.
The session ended with a game on a downsized pitch.
