Straight back to training
Vanessa Forns
FC Barcelona enjoyed a training session immediately after flying back from Switzerland on Thursday morning after they, unusually, stayed in Basel after the Champions League instead of returning straight after the game.
After recording an emphatic
0-5
win, the Blaugrana stayed in Basel for a night due to the fact that the airport in the Swiss
city closed at 23:00. The team spent the night in a hotel and then on Thursday jetted back to la
Ciutat Contal at 09:15 and arrived in time to participate in a previously scheduled training
session behind closed doors.
No break
Through a cloudy sky, the squad flew back to Barcelona and arrived in
Barcelona just before the scheduled time of midday. The players quickly disembarked and headed
towards Camp Nou where they quickly changed back into training kit and took to the pitch for a
warm-down session that coach Pep Guardiola had planned for 18:00.
Thinking about the league
The first team had to quickly change their mindset from the Champions
League to now begin to focus on la Primera and the next game against Almería on Saturday in Camp
Nou. With only three days to go before the encounter, there would be no time for a break and
preparations began immediately.
Behind closed doors
With the in mind, the training session began on Thursday with one eye on the next
match as the players took to the pitch in front of La Masia. It was the first of three sessions
that Guardiola has organised before the match. Training will also take place on Friday and then, as
usual, on the morning of the day of the game at 11:00.
