Xavi, Puyol and Messi in FIFPro World XI

Barcelona players Xavi, Puyol and Messi have been included in the FIFPro World XI 2007/08. This means that Barça is the club with the most players in the side.
This Monday morning the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) has announced
its World XI 2007/08. Barça players Leo Messi, Xavi Hernàndez and Carles Puyol are all in the
FIFPro team which is chosen by the Federation’s 57,500 members.
First for Xavi
This is the first time Xavi Hernàndez has been chosen for
the FIFPro World XI. This recognition comes in addition to being named Best Player at Euro 2008 by
UEFA and receiving an award from sports paper ‘Marca', also as the best Euro 2008 player.
It is the second year that Leo Messi and Carles Puyol have been in the FIFPro World XI.
The club with the most
Barça has the most players in the FIFPro World XI at three. It is
followed by Manchester United, with Rio Ferdinand and Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid, with Casillas
and Sergio Ramos, and Liverpool, with Fernando Torres and Gerrard. Chelsea, with John Terry, and
Milan, with Kaká, contribute one player each.
