Keita rejoins the squad

Keita trained for the first time with the rest of the squad today, the Malian star now coming to the end of his recovery period. The Barça players worked out on the Miniestadi pitch as they prepare for the game with Valladolid.

Josep Guardiola had 20 players to work with in the Thursday morning training session in the Miniestadi. The number included Seydou Keita, who was training with the first team for the first time since suffering an injury against Athletic Bilbao. He has been working in isolation for several days, but was now able to work out with all normality with his colleagues.

Piqué gets treatment

Iniesta, Milito and Abidal are all out through injury, while Gerard Piqué was also absent from the Miniestadi session. The Medical Services announced on Wednesday that Piqué is responding well to treatment on the haematoma he is suffering as a result of a thigh strain picked up in the Champions League game with Basel, and there is still a chance that the Catalan defender will be in the squad that faces Valladolid this weekend.
