“My best spell is still to come”
Berta Brau
Samuel Eto’o believes that his “best spell is still to come” because he puts no “limits” on what he wants to achieve. The Cameroon international also revealed that his dream is for “Barça to try and win every competition in which they play”.
Speaking to the press on Friday afternoon, the Barça striker then stated that the team has no
leaders. “In football every player has some responsibility and for that reason we are all
leaders,” he said. “I think my best spell is still to come. The compliments I am given
do not allow me to lose focus because that is when it is easiest to fall. When things are going
very well, that is when a cool head is needed most.”
Nothing to prove
After so many seasons of scoring regularly for the Blaugrana, Eto’o does not
believe that has to prove himself to anyone and now all he wants is that “Barça continue to
play like we have been and I hope that we can do well in every competition”.
No comparisons
Rather than look back at previous seasons, Eto’o thinks that “we cannot compare
ourselves to anyone and our main thing should be to continue winning games. The Recre game is our
next final. I think that we have to beat every team, not just Real Madrid.”
Calmness against Recre
On Sunday, Barça play at the Nuevo Colombino where they have never lost but Eto’o does
not believe that should count for anything. “We have to be calm, show respect and to win by
playing well,” he added.
