Cold weather affects training

The intense cold that has enveloped the Catalan capital over the past few days affected the players on Wednesday morning during their training session on the pitch in front of La Masia.

After the medical and physical tests the previous day, Pep Guardiola’s players exercised normally as they began to prepare for the visit of Valencia on Saturday. The squad left the warmth of the changing room at 11am to take to the field.

Three youngsters

Guardiola called up three youngsters from the youth ranks to pad out the numbers and Miño, Víctor Vázquez and Gai made up the 22 –man group and gained invaluable experience. Éric Abidal was also present as he continues his recuperation from injury and he trained without any problems with the rest of the players.

Sylvinho did not participate on Tuesday because of a heavy cold, but returned to action on Wednesday.
