Abidal gets medical all-clear
Jesús Carrillo
Éric Abidal has been considered fully recovered after being out for a month with problems with his right knee. The defender took part in training as per normal on Thursday morning.
A few days after the Copa del Rey trip to Benidorm, Éric Abidal was diagnosed as having a cyst in
the external meniscus of his right knee. He has been receiving treatment every since but on
Thursday was given medical clearance to rejoin the squad in preparation for the match with Valencia
this weekend.
Braving the cold
All of the players
available to coach Josep Guardiola reported for training at eleven o’clock sharp today at the
Miniestadi. There was plenty of joviality and good humour despite the morning cold, with most of
the players wearing gloves and caps as protection against the freezing conditions. Abidal, now
declared fully fit, joined in with all of the exercises.
