Four reserves against Shakhtar

After announcing Sunday he was to rest eight regulars, Josep Guardiola has called up reserve team players Botía, Abraham, Víctor Vázquez and Xavi Torres to his squad for the clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.
This Tuesday Barça plays its last game in the group stages of the Champions League against Shakhtar
with first place already wrapped up. Josep Guardiola has called up 18 players for the game
including four from Barça Atlètic.
This Monday’s training session at the Miniestadi
featured fourteen first team players and four reserves in the shape of Alberto Botía, Xavi Torres,
Abraham and Víctor Vázquez, who also trained under Guardiola’s watchful eye on Sunday.
Eight players rested
There has been a small change to the list of eight players announced on Sunday who would be
sitting out the Shakhtar game, with Thierry Henry now coming in for Samuel Eto'o. Alves, Puyol,
Márquez, Touré, Messi, Xavi, Eto'o and Valdés, who won’t be turning out against the Ukraine
outfit, are to train this Tuesday at 5.30 pm at the Masia.
Last session
The 18 players who will be running out on Tuesday have
another session on the day of the game at 11.30 am behind closed doors at Camp Nou when they will
be able to fine tune plans for the evening’s encounter.
The squad
The squad for the Shakhtar Donetsk game consists of Jorquera, Pinto, Martín Cáceres, Piqué,
Sylvinho, Abidal, Gudjohnsen, Sergio Busquets, Keita, Hleb, Bojan, Henry, Pedro, Víctor Sánchez,
Víctor Vázquez, Botía, Abraham and Xavi Torres.
