Xavi extends contract till 2014

Xavi Hernàndez signed an extension to his contract with the club on Friday afternoon, which will keep him at the Nou Camp until 2014.

The new deal means that the Barca midfielder will be staying at the club until at least 30 June 2014, four years more than his original contract which was due to run out in 2010. Xavi’s buy-out clause has been set at 80 million euros.

President Joan Laporta was present at the signing of the contract, together with the player’s representative Ivan Corretja, club sporting vice president Rafael Yuste, corporate director Joan Oliver, board member Albert Perrín, sporting director Txiki Begiristain and football director and director of relations with sporting organizations Raül Sanllehí.
