Eto'o returns to training

Samuel Eto'o returned to training with the rest of the squad on Tuesday afternoon. The Cameroonian had been offered a holiday until Friday but has rejoined the group three days ahead of schedule.
He was not even expected back for training before Friday January 2, but Samuel Eto'o was back 72
hours earlier than suggested, and ready for training along with his colleagues at the Camp Nou.
Eto'o had special permission from the club to stay away until Friday, along with the other players
that have families in more distant lands, namely Messi, Keita, Alves and Cáceres.
All of the other players had already had one workout earlier on in the day, while there were
19 players involved in the evening session in the Miniestadi.
Committed footballer
This is by no means the first time that Samuel Eto'o has shown such
absolute commitment to his club. When various players were called up for international duty on
November 19, and Cameroon had a friendly in South Africa, Eto'o voluntarily decided to stay behind
in Barcelona and concentrate instead on the game with Getafe the weekend after.
Seirul·lo at Handball World Cup
Paco Seirul•lo, one of the FC Barcelona fitness coaches, will be working with the Spanish
national handball team while they are away competing in the World Cup in Croatia. Seirul•lo
will come back to Barcelona as soon as Spain have no further role to play in the tournament. Valero
Rivera, the new Spanish national coach, asked FC Barcelona for special permission to use Paco
Seirul•lo’s services at this major tournament, and the club has accepted the proposal.
