Barca’s Mexican defender is “convinced” that the team can turn the tie round in next week’s second leg after Tuesday night’s defeat. Marquez, who played in midfield against Seville, reckons: “things are going to be more difficult for us this season”.
Marquez admitted: “you have to take advantage of these games to get more minutes under your
belt - we know Pep has a lot of belief in the whole squad”. Marquez played in the middle
against Seville, giving Gaby Milito the chance to make his comeback in central defence and he
commented; “I’m happy for him, especially after all the hard work he’s put
in”. Marquez also referred to the ref: “you have respect that they are professionals,
but sometimes you end up more concerned with what the ref is doing than your own job and that can
mean you lose focus”.
Ibrahimovic
“There’s still the second game to come and we’ll do everything we can to
win it”.
“Tonight’s game was complicated. In the disallowed goal the ref saw something
that I certainly didn’t”.
“We can pull it back, we are very confident about our chances and if we play our own
game, we’ll get through”
“I’d rather not talk about the ref – let’s look at how and the rest
of the team I played”.
“It was a blow to let in the second goal after we’d drawn level”.
Chygrinskiy
“It’s hard to speak because we lost. Now we have to
concentrate on winning in Seville”
“I can understand that the fans gave me some stick because at Barca the level is very
high, but I have to be prepared to deal with that kind of thing”.
“I’ve played very little of late, but I’m training hard to improve and fit
in better with the rest of the team”.
Iniesta
“We’ll try and win it in the second leg, We are capable of winning on their
ground”.
“We’re down in the tie and we’ll have to put more effort into
scoring”
“It’s better not to comment on the ref – it’s us who have to improve
if we are to get through”.
“It’s important for him and for the whole team that Milito played and did so
well”
