Light training without Alves
Sandra Sarmiento / Roger Bogunyà
The first team squad was back in training this morning after last night’s game in Seville. The only absentee was Dani Alves.
As always after a game, the training session saw the players split into two groups: those who
played last night didn’t come out onto the pitch, but were treated in the changing rooms. The
exception was Piqué who started the session out with the rest of the squad and Abidal, Henry and
Puyol, who came out for some stretching exercises.
Alves was given permission to stay over in Seville and was not at training this morning.
Round of applause for Valdés
The rest of the squad trained normally with Valdès receiving a round of
applause on his 28th birthday and a warm welcome for the five young reserve players who trained
with the first team - Oier, Jonathan, Thiago, Gai and Víctor Vázquez.
Jeffren, who is still recovering from his injury, trained apart from the rest of the players.
