Crowds turn out in Palafrugell
Jordi Clos
During the winter months, before the tourists come from all over Europe for the summer sun, Palafrugell is a quiet Costa Brava town, but the arrival of Barca for a training session brought the crowds out, with 4,000 people up to watch the team train.
The visit was planned as part of the town football team’s 100th anniversary celebrations and
before the session began, the players posed with the current Palafrugell team for a commemorative
photo on the pitch of the Josep Pla Stadium.
Interchange of plaques
Board members Albert Perrín and Jacint Borràs were the first members of the party to
appear on the pitch for an interchange of commemorative plaques with representatives of the local
supporters club, representatives of CF Palafrugell and the local town council.
Official photo
Amidst
great excitement from the predominantly young crowd, Barca posed for a photo with their
counterparts in the Palafrugell team, before signing autographs for a number of the players.
Delirious crowd
Then it was down to work as the staff put the players through their paces in front
of a delirious crowd who never stopped cheering every move their heroes made.
