Henry back in training
Marc Guillén / Jordi Clos
The French striker was back in training on Wednesday after recovering from a bout of gastroenteritis. Both he and Carles Puyol took a full part in the session. Reserve team defenders Muniesa and Dalmau joined the main group for the session.
On Wednesday it was back to the usual training routine after Tuesday’s trip up the Costa
Brava to Palafrugell. The main news today was the return of Thierry Henry after a stomach bug
forced him to miss Tuesday’s session. Meanwhile, Carles Puyol was also able to take a full
part in training though he will miss the Getafe game through suspension.
Alves and Abidal
However, Dani Alves and Eric Abidal exercised away from the main group.
Alves missed the match against Sporting due to a pulled muscle while Abidal picked up a few niggles
in the same match and has been working with a recovery coach since then.
Young reinforcements
Alves and Abidal were replaced in the group training session by reserve
team youngsters Albert Dalmau and Marc Muniesa. Given the fitness doubts surrounding both full
backs plus Puyol’s suspension, Dalmau and Muniesa may get the nod at some point against
Getafe. Dalmau usually plays at right back while Muniesa can play at full back or centre half.
