Good memories for Chygrynskiy
David Puig
Dymtro Chygrynskiy has fond memories of facing Getafe as he made his first-team debut for FC Barcelona against them this season a victory in the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
The Ukrainian international defender made his first appearance since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk
on September 12, 2009 and helped the Blaugrana to a 0-2 triumph and will be hoping for a similar
outcome when Míchel's team visit Camp Nou on Saturday.
Passing well
Chygrysnkiy was able to show what he is capable of in that opening encounter alongside his
new team-mates as he did not commit any fouls, while making seven tackles to win back possession.
His distribution also stood out as the centre-back completed each one of his 52 passes
successfully.
Injury time
After that opening encounter, Chygrynskiy maintained his place in the side for the
visit of Atlético de Madrid and again tasted victory as Barça recorded an emphatic 5-2 win. In his
third league match, against Málaga in La Rosaleda, Chygrynskiy picked up a knock and had to be
substituted after 56 minutes. That injury saw him sidelined for a month and interrupted his
adaption.
Since recovering though, Chygrynskiy has played nine games in total, starting seven of them.
With him in the team Barça have won six times, drawn once and been beaten once, by Sevilla in the
Copa del Rey.
