The Getafe win came at a price for the team, with Alves and Toure both out of next weekend’s game with injuries and Pique and Marquez both seeing red cards.
The Brazilian full back, who was given the medical okay by doctors just
yesterday morning, suffered a further calf injury in the warm up and will be out for about three
weeks.
Touré: 10 to 15 days out
Touré’s 100th game for the club ended badly as he came off with a thigh strain and will
be out for between 10 and 15 days. The midfielder, who took over at the back after Piqué’s
sending off was finally subbed by Marquez.
Red cards
Marquez himself, of course, was unable to finish the game after being sent off himself after
bringing down Kepa for Getafe’s penalty, to follow Piqué who saw red for a tough tackle on
Mané in the first half.
Both red cards will carry at least a one game suspension and Guardiola will thus have to
re-jig his back line for next week’s trip to Atletico Madrid.
