Monday’s training session took place without the injured Touré and Alves while Puyol worked out separately from the main group. Following on from the win against Getafe, Guardiola now has a full week to prepare the match against Atletico Madrid.
The current lack of midweek matches has allowed manager Pep Guardiola to
reorganize the team’s training schedule a little. The players were given Sunday off and
returned to training on Monday morning.
Touré and Alves
Dani Alves and Touré Yaya, who are both injured, did not take part in the session
and will not be available for next weekend.
Puyol continues recovery
Meanwhile, team captain Carles Puyol continued with his individual
training programme, which combines gym and field exercises. He is expected to resume normal
training later in the week and should be fit in time for Sunday’s match in the Vicente
Calderón.

Next training session in Reus
On Tuesday morning, the team will travel down to Reus, near Tarragona, for the next of their
itinerant training sessions.
Defender Maxwell, one of the stars of the Getafe match when he had to replace Dani Alves in
the starting line-up at the last moment, will then hold a press conference.
