Chygrynskiy and Touré step up training programme
Roger Bogunyà
The big news coming out of Wednesday’s training session was the return to field training of Dmitro Chygrynskiy and Touré Yaya. However, both players worked out separately from the rest of the squad.
Although they may still be some way from making a full recovery, it’s always good news to see
an injured player return to training on the pitch. Chygrynskiy and Touré exercised today at the
Club’s training grounds though they did not join in with the rest of the squad.
Guardiola will be keen to recover both players given that they are capable of playing in
defence and in midfield, which will give him more flexibility in team selection.
Alves on the mend
Meanwhile, following on from his appearance at Monday’s session,
Alves continued his recovery from injury.
Three from Atlètic
A total of 21 players took part in Wednesday’s session (including
Chygrynskiy, Touré and Alves). Three players from Barça Atlètic - Marc Bartra, Jonathan Dos Santos
and Thiago Alcántara -were also put through their paces.
For their part, Muniesa, Gai, Oriol Romeu and Jordi Masip, who trained with the senior squad
on Monday, were not included in today’s session.
