Abidal on the mend

Abidal reported to the Club’s training grounds on Wednesday and exercised out on the pitch for the first time since he picked up his current injury.
At the beginning of February, Eric Abidal injured his left thigh in the training session held in
the town of Reus. Doctors predicted that his recovery would take from between 6 and 8 weeks. A
month later he has trained out on the pitch for the first time. Although the squad was given the
day off this Wednesday, Abidal is determined to get himself fit for manager Pep Guardiola.
Henry trains apart
Henry was also on hand to work out at the training grounds. He was
unable to join his team-mates, however, as the artificial turf and the remaining snow could
aggravate his Achilles’ heel problem. On Tuesday afternoon he exercised with one of the
fitness coaches and continued with this individual recovery routine on Wednesday morning. However,
his availability for the Valencia game is not in doubt.
Milito and Keita
Meanwhile, Milito and Keita also went through their paces. Milito had a
relatively light session while Keita continued his recovery from injury. The Mali international
also trained on Tuesday and has renewed contact with the ball.
