Xavi Hernández and Gerard Piqué have been included in a 20-man squad for FC Barcelona’s trip to Mallorca at the weekend.
After training on Friday morning the Blaugrana coach announced the group that he would take to the
Balearic Islands for the game against Gregorio Manzano’s high-flying side.
Comeback kings
After being given the green light by club medics, Xavi is back in the squad after recovering
from an injury that he suffered in training recently. Piqué is also back in contention after he was
deemed fit after being left out for the visit of Osasuna in midweek as a precaution as he continued
his comeback from a knee injury.
One absentee
Sergio Busquets will not participate in the game against Real Mallorca. The midfielder is
suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the last outing.
21 players
The squad trained on Friday morning, in what was the last session before
they head to Mallorca. Everyone except Éric Abidal took to the pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan
Gamper at 11am. Jonathan Dos Santos was also called up from the youth ranks and will travel to the
Ono Estadi.
Abidal worked away from the rest of the squad with a personal coach as he continues his
recovery programme.
Travel plans
Barça will travel to Mallorca on Saturday morning with the flight departing at 10.30am on the
island 50 minutes later. The players will then travel to their hotel where they will stay until the
game.
