twice this season, losing 2-0 in the Nou Camp and drawing 0-0 in the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in the
Group stage.
Early goal
The game in Moscow was settled as early as the sixth minute when Wesley
Snejder fired home a free kick through the wall to surprise the Russian keeper and make it 2-0 on
aggregate. CSKA tried to find a way back, but it was Diego Milito for the Italians just past the
half hour mark who came closest to changing the scores, but the excellent Akinfeev foiled his
effort.
Red card seals Russians’ fate
The sending off of Odiah on at the start of the second half virtually sentenced the game and
but for another save from Akinfeev from Milito again on 72 minutes, Inter could have doubled their
lead.
