One in and two out for Madrid
www.fcbarcelona.cat
Pep Guardiola has named Gerard Piqué among 19 players for the long-awaited encounter against Real Madrid at the weekend, but neither Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Éric Abidal are included.
The FC Barcelona boss revealed the squad that he will be taking to the Spanish capital to take on
Los Merengues on Saturday evening and will leave one out in the build-up.
Piqué in
Piqué is back in the squad after recovering from a knock that he
suffered against Athletic Club de Bilbao. The central defender did not appear against Arsenal
because he was suspended, but the injury would have meant he was unavailable also.
Ibrahimovic out
Barça will be without Ibrahimovic for the encounter in Madrid after the
Swedish striker was not given the green light to play. Last weekend he suffered a calf injury in
the warm-up for the Athletic game and missed the Champions League win on Tuesday as a result.
Abidal is also omitted from the squad as he has been ruled out for ten days after picking up
a knock in the Arsenal game.
Last session
On Friday morning Barça had their last training session before they head to the Santiago
Bernabéu. On Saturday the squad will leave Camp Nou at 10.15am and are due to arrive in Madrid at
around 12pm.
The squad
Valdés, Pinto, Piqué, Puyol, Alves, Milito, Márquez, Maxwell, Chygrynskiy, Touré, Keita, Sergio,
Xavi, Iniesta, Jeffren, Messi, Henry, Pedro, Bojan.
