Laporta proud of the team

Club President Joan Laporta expressed his pride in the team after the win in Madrid, stressing: “we are now in the driving seat at this important point in the season”.

Laporta recognises that this is a historic moment for the club and explained: “we know how to fight and how to suffer, but when we add the talent we have to that mix, we are really something to watch. We really enjoyed it tonight, it was perfect and we did it with real authority”.

An honour

“It’s an honour to be president of this club. I’m happy to be living the best moment in the club’s history. It’s not easy to reach the level that we have as a club. It’s been a recognition for the club and a restitution of the prestige we have always deserved”.

Prudent

Echoing his manager though, Laporta cautioned prudence with regards to this year’s league race: “the win was a really important morale for us, but the league isn’t over and there are still plenty of games to be played. Right now we have to focus on the Deportivo game”.
