Alves looking for a win
Edgar Fornós
Brazilian fullback Dani Alves told reporters on Monday in Milan: “We’ll go for a victory right from the start, as always. It’s vital to score an away goal to have options of going through”.
The first leg of this tough semi-final tie is in Italy but Alves insists that he and his team-mates
will not be holding anything back: We wont play for a draw. Well try and leave
the tie in our favour though we know thatll be difficult. Scoring a goal in their stadium
would be a great advantage for the return leg. Thats why well go flat out.
Mentality Emirates Stadium
The match against Arsenal in the quarterfinals in the Emirates Stadium in London was one of
Barca's best performances of the season. Thats the attitude we need to show against
Inter in order to reach the final in the Bernabeu. If we play like we did that evening then we have
a great chance of winning the match.
Inter to attack
Italian football is famous for its excellence in defence so Alves knows that scoring will be
a difficult task: Tactically, Inter are a very good team. They defend to perfection but they
also attack. I dont expect a match like Saturdays against Espanyol- very hard and
defensive. They will also try and win the match.
No more match bans
Dani Alves was sent off against Espanyol, reminding everyone of the ban that led him to miss
last seasons CL final in Rome: You suffer much more from the stands. I hope I
dont get sent off again because its a very disagreeable sensation. Were on the
verge of a great opportunity and we mustnt waste it. If we reach the final, I hope I can take
part because if not it would be a huge blow.
