Club to take Alves case to appeal

The Spanish Federation has not accepted Barca’s appeal against last Saturday’s red card for Dani Alves and the club will now proceed to the Appeals Committee to try and get the two yellows rescinded.
The Competition Committee of the RFEF – the Spanish Football Federation – have decided
to impose a one game suspension on Alves after he was sent off against Espanyol.
The Brazilian was shown a first yellow in the first half after a clash with Callejon and
after the break he was shown his second, again after an incident with the same player. It was
Alves’ first sending off since he joined Barca.
The club is planning to appeal the suspension to the Appeals Committee, which if not upheld
would mean Alves would miss this Saturday’s game against Jerez.
