Touré Yaya believes that FC Barcelona can build on the win against Xerez by bouncing back with a strong performance in the second leg of the Champions League against Inter in midweek.
The Blaugrana beat the top flight’s bottom team on Sunday afternoon and the Ivory Coast
midfielder was pleased with the commitment. “We were professional and we were able to win
comfortably in the end,” he stated.
Looking ahead to the visit of Inter on Wednesday Touré is relishing the challenge. “It
is the most important game of my life and we will have to give 150 per cent,” he continued.
“We absolutely have to win”
Below is what some of the players had to say after the Xerez win:
Puyol:
"We knew that everyone was behind us. It is a good time as we want to win trophies and the
team has given everything."
"It is a tough challenge, but I am convinced that we can do it. We hope we do not fail."
"I would miss the semi final every year if the team went on to reach the final."
"I want to play every game and I think it is unjust, but it is more important that we win."
"We hope that the referee will not be a central figure."
"The squad has real desire. Now we have to recover after this game and then think about the
semi-final with great excitement like the fans are."
"We try to inspire the supporters, but they will be behind us."
"We can come back, the games in Camp Nou are long but we will give everything with the fans
by our side. They are the best in the world."
Keita:
"It will be a very important game for the whole club."
(Asked about the message on his t-shirt) "If the fans are here I am sure that we will be
stronger."
Chygrynskiy:
"Games can be difficult if they fall between semi final legs and are
against the bottom team. The top team may not be 100 per cent focussed."
"I felt good because we are doing well and I am sure we can win. If play like we have been
doing then I am sure we will win again."
Henry:
"It was a difficult game against an in-form Xerez side that showed that. We had to win and we
have done."
"We are looking forward to the game on Wednesday, but now we have to rest."
"It is not a question of pride but when you lose it is not easy and we will do everything we
can to bounce back."
"The fans will be great like they always are in Europe."
