Pedro’s strike in the Giuseppe Meazza could well prove vital for Barca’s hopes of reaching the Champions League final – yet another indication of the young forward’s uncanny ability to score all important goals.
Pedro Rodríguez always seems to pop up with a goal when Barca most need it and with his strike
in Italy counting double in the case of a draw, he could again prove to have been the key man in a
Barca win.
Chelsea
It wouldn’t be the first time Barca have come back thanks to an away goal. In
the 2000 quarter finals, they went down 3-1 to Chelsea, but Luis Figo’s goal at Stamford
Bridge proved decisive as the team pulled back the result at the Nou Camp and went on to win in
extra time.
2-0 at the Nou Camp
The young Canary Islander has already scored against Inter in the Nou
Camp, opening the scoring in the 2-0 win in the group stage. After being rested on Saturday against
Xerez, Pedro looks likely to start on Wednesday and maybe just repeat his scoring feats.
Big game striker
Pedro’s instinct for a killer strike has proved vital in Mònaco,
Abu Dhabi, Santiago Bernabéu and maybe now in the Giuseppe Meazza. In Barca’s hour of need,
Pedro has always come up trumps, his goals have won the European Super Cup, taken the World Club
Cup Final into extra time and confirmed the team’s potential Championship winning victory in
Madrid. His goal in Milan could give the team the ticket to their second successive European Cup
Final.
