Majestic Bayern off to Madrid (0-3)

Bayern Munich once again beat Olympique Lyon and are through to the Champions League final. An Ivica Olic hat trick did the job.
Former Barça manager Louis Van Gaal and his Bayern Munich will be the opposition for the
winner’s of tonight’s semi final, after the Bavarians capitalised on their 1-0 win at
the Allianz Arena to storm to a 0-3 victory at Gerland. The Croat was the hero of the night with
all three goals.
Full steam ahead
The four time champions, with former FCB man Van Bommel in the line-up, knew exactly what
they had to do. They wanted an early away goal and almost got it in the first minute when Muller
missed when it would have been easier to score. But he made amends shortly after with a pass to
Olic, who slotted home. Lyon now needed three goals, and never really looked like getting them.
Recital from Olic
Matters got even worse for the French side, chasing their first ever final, when Cris was
sent off after 59 minutes. Now against ten men, the Germans took total command, and Olic extended
their lead in the 67th minute. The little hope for Olympique now became no hope, and they looked
absolutely demoralised when Olic rounded off the night with a 78th minute header. Barça and Inter
both know what they’ll be facing if they qualify for the Santiago Bernabéu showdown: Bayern
Munich.
