Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has announced his 23 players to go to South Africa, and Barça have seven representatives in the form of Valdés, Puyol, Piqué, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta and Pedro.
The three goalkeepers selected by Del Bosque for the 2010 World Cup are finally Casillas, Reina and
Víctor Valdés. The FCB stopper won the Zamora in 2009/10, and was already in the shortlist of 30
named on May 10. Another Barça player going to his first World Cup is Pedro, who like Valdés has
never made an official international appearance.
Of course, Barça really have eight players in the Spanish squad, because David Villa,
formerly of Valencia, is on the verge of signing his contract with FC Barcelona.
Vicente Del Bosque gave a press conference in Madrid this afternoon, where he explained his
final decisions.
