Berta Brau / Roger Bogunyà
David Villa spoke exclusively to Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat on his arrival on Thursday and declared Barca to be “the best team in the world. This is a big step for me”.
Although he’s not officially signing till Friday after medical tests, David Villa spent his
first day as a Barca player today and told the club TV station and website: “I’m very
happy and proud to be here. Anybody would be happy to come to a club like this –as everybody
says, this is the best team in the world”.
“Hard work and humility”
What does Villa think he’ll bring to the team? “hard work,
humility and a desire to try and help the team be a little better. I’m really keen to get
started here”. Villa also had words of thanks for all his previous clubs, particularly
Valencia.
Easier to score with Barca
Villa will play at the Nou Camp surrounded by stars and he reckons: “it’s always
hard to score goals, but when you have players like Xavi, Messi, Busquets, Keita or Pedro around
you, it’s bound to be a little easier for a striker”.
