Villa’s favourite victims
Jesús Carrillo
Barca’s latest signing David Villa has a fine goalscoring pedigree in the top flight and is regularly in the reckoning for the leading scorer award.
His favourite victims appear to be Seville, Betis, Osasuna and Deportivo, against all of whom
he’s scored 10 goals in his league career.
Villa has bagged a total of 138 goals in the top flight with Zaragoza and Valencia,
and although the two Seville clubs, Osasuna and Deportivo are his favourite victims, he’s
also scored five apiece against Barca and Real Madrid, with Valdes and Casillas both on the
receiving end of his strikes.
Highest Spanish scorer last season
Villa scored 21 goals in 33 league games for Valencia last season, with three against Osasuna
and one each against Deportivo and Real Madrid, whilst failing to find the net against Seville and
Barca. Villa was the leading Spanish scorer in La Liga, finishing behind Leo Messi and
Madrid’s Ronaldo and Higuain.
