“Cesc signing complicated before June 30th”
Xavi Tauler
Joan Laporta confessed that signing Cesc before 30th June is looking complicated. The club President believes Arsenal will “finally give in”, but isn’t sure when, though he insisted: “the technical secretary is working hard on the signing”.
On an official visit to Sant Guim de Freixenet, President Laporta admitted: “it’ll be
complicated to sign Cesc before June 30th because Arsenal have a fixed position and it’s
difficult to get them to change that in just a few days”. The President’s period of
office runs out at the end of June and his admission reveals he’ll not be able to make the
signing before he leaves.
Laporta insisted: “we’ll keep trying and if it’s not us who do it, the new
board will, if they feel it’s something they want to continue with. I think Arsenal will gave
way – but I don’t know when and we just have to wait and let the professionals who are
dealing with it get on with the job they’ve been given”.
Ibra
Laporta also insisted that neither the technical staff nor the manager
are planning any operation involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, but he did admit: “the
market is very changeable and it’s moving fast, so we have to be careful”.
Henry’s future to be decided after S.A.
President Laporta also reiterated that the club and Thierry Henry are both prepared to reach
an agreement about his future: “we’ll talk about it after the World Cup has
finished”.
