Details of the football first team’s trip to London from 21 to 26 July for the start of preseason 2009/10 have been announced. The squad leaves for the UK on Tuesday.
The FC Barcelona squad will be at Camp Nou on 20 July for preseason medical check-ups.
On the 21st they will set off for a six-day training camp in London featuring two Wembley Cup
games against Tottenham (24 July) and Al-Ahly (26 July).
Travelling on Tuesday
At 3.30 pm on Tuesday the team leaves Camp Nou for El Prat
airport and the 4.30 pm flight to London Luton where they will land at just before 6 pm. They will
then go straight to the Danesfield House Hotel & Spa.
Double training
On both Wednesday and Thursday there will be morning and evening training sessions at the
Bisham Abbey Sports Centre, just over a mile from Marlow in the Buckinghamshire countryside on the
banks of the River Thames.
The morning session will begin at 10 and last 1 ½ hours while the evening one will run from 6
to 7.15 pm.
First game Friday
Barça’s first preseason game will be in the Wembley Cup against Spurs at Wembley on
Friday with kick-off at 8 pm. Josep Guardiola will give his first post-match press conference of
the season once the game has finished. The players will train in the morning from 10 to 11.30 and
leave their hotel for Wembley at 5.30 pm.
Further preparations
On Saturday there will be another double training session,
in the morning from 10 to 11.30 and in the evening from 6 to 7.15.
Second match and back to Barcelona
Sunday will be a busy day as at 11 am after breakfast the squad will head for Wembley again
for a 1.30 kick-off against Al-Ahly in the Wembley Cup.
After the game the team will return to Barcelona, flying out of London Luton at 5.30 pm and
arriving in the Catalan capital at 8.30 pm.
