Maxwell set for busy day in Barcelona
www.fcbarcelona.cat
Maxwell arrived in Barcelona at midday on Friday and was expected to head straight for his medical exam ahead of signing a contract with the Blaugrana. The Brazilian defender will then be presented to the media at 17:30 CET.
Flying into El Prat airport from Los Angeles, where Inter are currently preparing for the new
season, Maxwell has a busy day ahead of him. Travelling first to the offices of the club at Camp
Nou, the player will pose outside for photographs for the press at 13:00 CET and then head inside
where he will be able to relax before going for his physical exams.
Medical test
Before becoming the sixth Brazilian defender to play for Barcelona, Maxwell will have to pass
the usual medical at FC Barcelona's medical centre in the stadium as well as other tests at the
Hospital de Barcelona. Once those have been concluded, the player will put pen-to-paper on his
contract at Barcelona and will be presented to the media in the Sala Paris.
The Sala Paris is the room above the Barça Botiga in the Camp Nou forecourt and the player
will be introduced at 19:30 CET where he will answer questions before heading to the Miniestadi to
put on the new kit and pose for more photos.
Miniestadi is being used because Camp Nou is having the pitch replaced and that means that
for aesthetic purposes the club have chosen the other arena. The whole event will be beamed live on
Barça TV around the world with a special programme beginning at 17:30 CET.
