A total of 28 players fly off to London today (Tuesday) to begin their preseason preparations. The treble holders will be staying in Marlow, near London, where they will take part in twice daily training sessions and play two friendlies.
Barça manager Pep Guardiola has called up 28 players for the first phase of the preseason, 17 from
the senior squad (including the three goalkeepers) and 11 youngsters from the academy and reserve
squads.
In the absence of Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Piqué, Busquets,
Alves, Milito and Eto'o, Guardiola has decided to take along a large group of young hopefuls, just
as he did last season.
The travelling begins
The Barça party is heading for Marlow, some 60 kilometres from London, the first stage of a
24,167 kilometres preseason journey. They will be staying at the Danesfield House Hotel & Spa
until next Sunday.
The hotel is close to the Bisham Abbey Sports Centre, where the players will be training for
the rest of the week.
